Angela & Jim Webb welcomes you and your family to the Red Lion
Jim and Angela have carried out a total refurbishment of the Red Lion at Steeple Bumpstead near Haverhill. This was a huge task carried out by the owner Jim Webb who also ran a large building company and his team of craftsmen. This involved incorporating original beams into the smartly updated décor, laying of a new stone slab floor. There are 3 accommodation rooms located within the Inn and in 2008 we started the building of our two luxury double en-suite rooms in the enclosed grounds of the Inn. The extensive bar area offers a large choice of real ales and a wide selection of wines. Comprising of rustic tables on a flagstone floor that are separated by low wooden screens, another area provides comfortable upholstered chairs. Exposed floorboards, a modern bar in light oak and a wood-burning stove are other features.
In 2013 we saw the completion of our new delightful semi-detached barn conversion, a former stable that has been lovingly converted to an excellent standard and is set in the grounds of the inn. The Stable sleeps up to 6 with two double rooms, with a well fitted kitchen and delightful lounge/dining area with wood burning stove. For more information please have look at The Stable.
